Well I guess that only lasted a month and half or so. Too busy enjoying the moments i guess; or is it getting swept away in them and managed by the many events occurring.

Winter Break

Had a wonderful winter break with lots of family time, cooking, sleeping, movies and I got to visit with some friends from high school!

December 11, 2009

Making sweet potato casserole for dinner with the Havorah.

December 12, 2009

Dancing the night away at the Light It Up party.

December 13, 2009

We went out for dinner at The Kitchen Table to celebrate mom's birthday. Thought I was biting into a dill pickle... it was a winter spiced pickle with strong flavors of cloves, cinnamon, and vinegar. Certainly an unexpected surprise.

December 14, 2009

Dinner at home on Mom's actual birthday. Erin came to visit and took this family picture (minus 1).

December 15, 2009

Had a fun day with Talia and Bubbie! We had lunch at Miyake's, walked around Shoreline and made apple sauce (as seen in the corner of the photo).

December 16-22, 2009

Three or four different colds migrated through our house around this time filled with lots of sleep, soup, vitamin c, tangerines and oranges.

December 23, 2009

Talia and I made brownies and cornbread; yum! The second picture is mini popcorn cart at Bed Bath and Beyond; how fun!

December 24, 2009

Joel tried out a new recipe for Chicken Pot Pie and brought it over to share. It was delicious. Afterward we began our movie theater marathon with a viewing of Invictus.

December 25, 2009

Continuing the marathon we saw Sherlock Holmes!

December 26, 2009

For a third movie we saw Avatar in IMAX 3D. Tried to take a picture of the bug eyes looking 3D glasses but it came out too dark.

December 27, 2009

Had our annual mini high school reunion. We had lunch at Chilies and then went ice skating and to Cold Stone.

December 28, 2009

Had a spontaneous family dinner at Fiesta Del Mar. The server brought my root beer with two straws! Made my day cause as Bubbie says, "Two straws are better than one straw!" that and when we went home we put together Abba's kite that had arrived earlier in the day. To bad it was a rainy day so we couldn't fly it.

December 29, 2009

Shared a taste of home at The Donut Wheel with Kassandra who I haven't seen in a year(since the last time we caught up with each other at the wheel) !!! The guy that took the picture for us was funny and moved his plate with donut pieces into the picture so that the location could be recognized.

December 30, 2009

Mmm, I love the taste of these Just Peaches; how they crunch and melt in your mouth at the same time.

December 31, 2009

Fortune Cookies!!! One my all time favorite fmaily traditions is having fortune cookies on New Years Eve. We celebrated with the final movie of the movie theater marathon. We saw Up In The Air.

January 1, 2010

With one final trip to the grocery store before going back to school I found this random mushroom on top of the apples amusing. You can't have too many pictures! So here's a fun sole on the bottom of a pair of shoes at Footwear Etc. I love music!

January 2, 2010

Back at school we had a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill with Erin. It was nice to have some one on one or two on one (in non ganging up way) time together.

January 3, 2010

Erica's onion has been doing some growing while we've all been away.

The Remainder of Finals Week

December 8, 2009

My pillow for the amazing nap I had. I sure did need it!

December 9, 2009

Sarah C. took this cute picture of Talia and I at In n' Out during a study break.

December 10, 2009

Erika Z. got this flower picture to britghten up the Violence Prevention Center. It was a day of final visits and packing before going home later that night for the rest of December.

Smiling Through The Rain

Thanks for the rain today!

December 1, 2009

Starting the the month out without a picture. The one I would of taken is of Libby and a group member in bright orange life jackets during a presntation on underwater tourism.

December 2, 2009

Just cleaning up from dinner with Talia, I sure like eating out of bowls.

December 3, 2009

Had a great time at the Eta Sigma Delta Office Holiday Party. Patty, Marianne and I at the photo booth and Gary and Libby after making snowflakes.

December 4, 2009

Waiting for the bus at the smiling bench. It's all in the angle of perspective.

December 5, 2009

Spent most of the day working on my final project for Th 301 Through Artists Eyes. Made a songography of my life and accompanying linear notes (one of the background designs is pictured).

December 6, 2009

The finished product.

December 7, 2009

A day for smiling through the rain. On the bus ride to class I looked down at my backpack to see the green dot button on my backpack showed in droplets of green dots. I later passed this button onto a classmate who unknowingly shared about her personal green dot moment in life, a very powerful and inspiring one at that.

What's a green dot you ask?

"This group is for all those who are against power-based personal violence (i.e. sexual assault, rape, child abuse, domestic and dating violence, and stalking) and wish to do something to combat it. A Green Dot is a positive action in the face of such sexual violence that reduces or eliminates that violence. Green Dots are used to displace Red Dots, which are the uncountable instances of aggression, ignorance, intolerance, and fear that surround issues of power-based personal violence. If we begin to educate ourselves about these issues and learn to talk about them, we will learn how to rid ourselves of them; this is the mission of the Green Dot Campaign.
Until the violence stops! " http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=113143764631&ref=ts

Thanksgiving Weekend

Thanksgiving Weekend, why, you've come so soon, is fall quarter really coming to an end already (just two more weeks) when it feels like it has only just begun?

November 25, 2009

I'll start the weekend with well the middle of the week, Wednesday. With no class for a teacher furlough day, I attempted to check items off my to do list and spent time visiting at the center (pictured: Sam and her adorable dog Penny Lane. They go together like peas in a pod.). The day ended with packing to fly home the next morning.

November 26, 2009

These are the wonderful family and friends that I spent thanksgiving with! A special day as today gets an extra photo. There's just something about this second picture that I really like; perhaps with the coloring of the flowers and that of the sparkling pomegranate juice bottle with the wine glass shinning from behind. A favorite memory from this thanksgiving: I was pleasantly surprised and excited to see Bubbie in the passenger seat when Abba came to pick us up from the airport! I love being in your aura.

November 27, 2009

Black Friday: No major crowds to weave through to get new shoes. We stopped to watch the model trains run!

November 28, 2009

I only need the Alaska Quarter to complete my 50 states quarter collection. Apparently I'm still behind, as they've now added in US territories into the mix.

November 29, 2009

Talia, Mom and I went to see The Blind Side. Great movie! The AMC theater had giant chipmunks stirring up trouble in the middle of the lobby. There's a new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie coming out in December.

November 30, 2009

In a world of ever changing technology a lot gets left left behind and traded in for the next "best" thing. The e-waste collection on campus; fittingly, placed next to both a recycle bin and a trash can. Side Note: How genius for the recycle bin to be placed with the trash can so you that the recycle bin can actually be used for recycle and not as the replacement for a trash can as is done in many other locations, especially on campus.

A Week of Festivities

What a busy and fun filled week.

November 15, 2009

I know I didn't take this picture but I sure did receive some fun and humorous twitter updates on this other wise not to eventful day.

November 16, 2009

The pretty red carnations Erica bought. They sure brighten up the room.

November 17, 2009

Just enjoying the sunset through the trees while waiting for the hour before class to pass on top of the HRT hill at Collins College.

November 18, 2009

Celebrating Erin's 21st birthday!

November 19, 2009

Looks like all that time and hard work put into classes is paying off. Erin and I at the Eta Sigma Delta Induction Ceremony Banquet.

November 20, 2009

Guess I forgot to capture a moment on camera this Friday; next time. I did, however, remember to call my sister and wish her happy birthday!

November 21, 2009

I really like this one. Saturday was an early morning and late night at the Seaport Village in San Diego between volunteering at the San Diego Wine and Food Festival.

November 22, 2009

Sunday gets a bonus photo! Talia and I had a blast exploring all the new and nifty items at The Farm Store and making a root beer flavored cake afterward for Diane's retirement gathering at the center on Monday. Who knew 'they' make mixes to make your own marshmallows or that you can buy apple and cinnamon flavoring spoons where the spoons handle is a cinnamon stick?

November 23, 2009

Diane's retirement gathering at the center today was bittersweet but so much fun. We're going to miss you!

November 14, 2009

November 14, 2009

Sister time! Just another Saturday at the apartment. Talia and I made latkas.
