A day for smiling through the rain. On the bus ride to class I looked down at my backpack to see the green dot button on my backpack showed in droplets of green dots. I later passed this button onto a classmate who unknowingly shared about her personal green dot moment in life, a very powerful and inspiring one at that.
What's a green dot you ask?
"This group is for all those who are against power-based personal violence (i.e. sexual assault, rape, child abuse, domestic and dating violence, and stalking) and wish to do something to combat it. A Green Dot is a positive action in the face of such sexual violence that reduces or eliminates that violence. Green Dots are used to displace Red Dots, which are the uncountable instances of aggression, ignorance, intolerance, and fear that surround issues of power-based personal violence. If we begin to educate ourselves about these issues and learn to talk about them, we will learn how to rid ourselves of them; this is the mission of the Green Dot Campaign.
Until the violence stops! " http://www.facebook.com/#/group.php?gid=113143764631&ref=ts
