We went out for dinner at The Kitchen Table to celebrate mom's birthday. Thought I was biting into a dill pickle... it was a winter spiced pickle with strong flavors of cloves, cinnamon, and vinegar. Certainly an unexpected surprise.

Had a fun day with Talia and Bubbie! We had lunch at Miyake's, walked around Shoreline and made apple sauce (as seen in the corner of the photo).

Three or four different colds migrated through our house around this time filled with lots of sleep, soup, vitamin c, tangerines and oranges.

Joel tried out a new recipe for Chicken Pot Pie and brought it over to share. It was delicious. Afterward we began our movie theater marathon with a viewing of Invictus.

For a third movie we saw Avatar in IMAX 3D. Tried to take a picture of the bug eyes looking 3D glasses but it came out too dark.

Had our annual mini high school reunion. We had lunch at Chilies and then went ice skating and to Cold Stone.

Had a spontaneous family dinner at Fiesta Del Mar. The server brought my root beer with two straws! Made my day cause as Bubbie says, "Two straws are better than one straw!" that and when we went home we put together Abba's kite that had arrived earlier in the day. To bad it was a rainy day so we couldn't fly it.

Shared a taste of home at The Donut Wheel with Kassandra who I haven't seen in a year(since the last time we caught up with each other at the wheel) !!! The guy that took the picture for us was funny and moved his plate with donut pieces into the picture so that the location could be recognized.

Fortune Cookies!!! One my all time favorite fmaily traditions is having fortune cookies on New Years Eve. We celebrated with the final movie of the movie theater marathon. We saw Up In The Air.

With one final trip to the grocery store before going back to school I found this random mushroom on top of the apples amusing. You can't have too many pictures! So here's a fun sole on the bottom of a pair of shoes at Footwear Etc. I love music!

Back at school we had a delicious dinner at Macaroni Grill with Erin. It was nice to have some one on one or two on one (in non ganging up way) time together.
